Transfer Admission Requirements

The Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology (APK) is concerned with quality of life and the many aspects of human movement. Significant research contributions, education and service are related to the study of physiological and psychological responsiveness to vigorous and relevant physical activities. In addition, movement skills capabilities and ways to improve skills and maintain health are determined for the typical person, the person who is disabled and the high-level athlete.

Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kineisology

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology offers two specializations, Exercise Physiology and Fitness/Wellness, depending on student academic interests and goals, career and professional goals, and academic aptitude. Sites for research, student experience, and employment include educational institutions, health agencies and organizations, corporate or private fitness programming centers, and other health-related business and industry opportunities.

Required Prerequisite Coursework for APK Exercise Physiology

Transfer students must complete specific prerequisite courses prior to their enrollment at UF. The BS-APK Exercise Physiology specialization requires a minimum 3.0 prerequisite GPA and a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA . A maximum of two Cs can be earned in prerequisite courses. All other prerequisite grades must be B or better.

Transfer students must complete specific prerequisite courses prior to their enrollment at UF. The BS-APK Fitness/Wellness specialization requires a minimum 2.8 prerequisite GPA and a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. The Our GPA calculator may help you calculate your prerequisite GPA.

(Although this course is not required for admission, if it is offered at your institution, please complete it prior to admission. If this course is not offered at your institution, you will be required to complete it your first term of enrollment at UF.)
